HOW IT WORKS

Everything you need to know to get the most out of NAVISIGN

Getting Started
1

Download & Open

Install NAVISIGN from Google Play. The app is ready to use immediately — no account creation, no registration, no internet required. All reference data is bundled within the app.

2

Choose Your Language

Open Settings (gear icon) and select your preferred language. NAVISIGN supports 8 languages: English, Russian, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic and Chinese. All content — including flag meanings, buoy data and messages — is fully translated.

3

Explore the Features

The home screen shows four main modules: Signal Flags, Maritime Messages, Buoys & Marks, and Morse Code. Tap any card to dive into the reference content.

Signal Flags

Browse the Alphabet

The Signals screen shows all 26 international flags (A–Z) in a visual grid. Each flag displays its letter code and name. Use the search bar to quickly find a specific flag by letter or meaning.

🔍

View Flag Details

Tap any flag to see its full detail: official name, letter/phonetic code, meaning (in your selected language), and visual pattern description. Free users can access a selection of flags; Premium unlocks all 26 plus 10 numeric pennants.

Buoys & Marks

IALA Buoy System

Browse 8 types of navigation marks used worldwide under the IALA system: lateral marks (red/green), special marks, isolated danger, safe water, and four cardinal marks (N/S/E/W). Each entry includes a description, recommended action, and light characteristics.

💡

Light Characteristics

Each buoy entry shows its light pattern — color, rhythm and period. This helps you identify buoys at night or in low visibility conditions.

Maritime Messages
📡

21 Standard Signals

Messages are organized into four categories: Distress (SOS, Man Overboard, Sinking), Medical, Navigation, and Notice/Greeting. Each message shows its flag code combination and full meaning. Swipe between categories using the tabs at the top.

Morse Code
·—

Complete Reference

The Morse Code module covers three tabs: Signals (16 key maritime signals like SOS, MAYDAY, PAN-PAN), Letters (A–Z), and Digits (0–9) plus punctuation. Each entry shows the dot-dash pattern and its meaning.

Flag Semaphore
🚩

Learn the Alphabet

The Semaphore module shows all 26 letters (A–Z) of the international flag semaphore system. Each letter is illustrated with a stick figure holding flags at the correct arm angles. Tap any letter to see the full detail view with arm position indicators.

✍️

Message Composer

Switch to the Message tab and type any word or phrase. The app converts each letter into its semaphore position and animates them one by one — like a real signaller at sea. Use the play/pause controls and the speed slider (0.5s–5s per letter) to match your pace. Tap any letter chip to jump directly to that position.

💎

Free & Premium

The Alphabet tab is fully free. The Message Composer includes 10 free messages — enough to explore the feature. Unlock Premium for unlimited semaphore message composing.

Tips

🔒 Premium — One-Time Payment

Unlock all content with a single payment. No subscription, no auto-renewal. Premium removes ads, unlocks all flags, buoys, messages and Morse signals, and includes all future modules at no extra cost.

🌐 Offline Mode

NAVISIGN works fully offline. All data is stored on your device. Internet is only needed for ads (free version) and the initial premium purchase. Once purchased, Premium works offline too.
